Niosa
is a sweet, happy little girl who is out of a litter sired by our TIto.
She looks a lot like her Dad, and shares with him the Belton patterning
seen in her coat. Often called "ticking", the Belton areas have
flecks of black hair growing on the white field of coat. As the coat grows
into a mature Havanese coat, these will gro into lengthwise "streaks"
of black coat growing on the white background.
The effect is lovely. If you were to shave Niosa down, you would see black
"freckles" on her skin where the black pigmented specks grow
in the midst of the white coat - almost like a Dalmation. She measures 10 3/8" at the withers
with a lovely rise to her topline.
Niosa began her show career as a puppy and now has 4 majors
to add to her accomplishments. She started out with a bang by taking her
first major from the 6-9 puppy class on her first time out in the show
ring. Handled by Lois Demers, Niosa took Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite
at the Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa under judge Nancy Smith Hafner
(click here for photo). On Niosa's
second weekend out on the show circuit, she went Winners Bitch/Best of
Winners/Best of Opposite to pick up her second major win under judge Janet
Allen Jacobsen. On her third weekend out, Niosa picked up two more major
wins. First she took Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite
at the Trinity Valley Kennel Club show under judge Joesph Joly III (click
here for photo). Then she repeated the performance with the exact
same results at the Collin County Kennel Club show under judge Michael
Heflin. We would like to thank all of these judges for finding Niosa in
their rings and as always are so pleased with Lois DeMers for her excellent
care and handling of our dogs.

We are so proud of Niosa's start and are looking forward
to watching her finish her AKC championship in the same grand style! Many
thanks to Joan Little, Niosa's breeder, for allowing this adorable girl
to join our family here with her sire at Tejano!
